Several new artificial turf fields in Gothenburg are opting for biodegradable infill from BIQ Materials

New Project Launch

BIQ Materials, Gräsmiljö Sverige and Limonta Sport continue to contribute to the development of future artificial turf pitches. The latest project is Gamlestadsvallen, where BIQ Infill® 400 is being installed together with Limonta’s Hero Shape artificial turf system.

Götaholms BK highlights the positive experience from the new pitch.

– After training on several different pitches during the construction period, we notice a clear difference with the new Gamlestadsvallen. The pitch feels softer and more comfortable to play on, with a slightly more muted ball bounce that resembles natural grass. At the same time, quality and precision in passing are required, which can contribute to a higher pace of play. The fact that the solution is also environmentally and health-friendly, future-proof, and involves lower operating costs makes it a win on multiple levels, says Ingvar Börjesson, Treasurer of Götaholms BK.

Performance meets sustainability

BIQ and its partners continue their work on developing the future of artificial turf pitches—where high playing performance is combined with biodegradable and sustainable material solutions.
