Customer case: IFK Kviberg 6

Infill for the artificial grass pitch Kviberg 6, Gothenburg

The challenge:
The EU ban on rubber-based infill for artificial turf pitches requires sustainable alternatives that meet both technical and environmental requirements.

Which BIQ material is used: Infill/OD400

RESULT: BIQ Materials' infill OD400 was chosen for the new artificial grass pitch at Kviberg 6 in Gothenburg. The installation was carried out by Limonta.

IFK Göteborg has taken a big step towards a more sustainable football future by choosing a modern artificial turf system for Kviberg 6 - an important investment in the transition away from rubber-based materials that will be banned in the EU from October 2031.

OD400 is our bio-based infill that combines high playing quality with clear environmental benefits. The material is biodegradable, UV-resistant and has a high density that makes it stable even in rain and wind.

We've already received great feedback from players after the first training session on the pitch - both in terms of playing characteristics and comfort:

"Great grass. Great granules. I have tested many different artificial grass pitches in Sweden and this one feels incredibly exciting. When the granules have been trampled down and settled, the pitch will be one of the best in the country."
- Loke Grahn, Head Coach P17, IFK Göteborg

Kviberg 6 is a full-size artificial turf pitch used by IFK Göteborg's youth teams and other associations in the area. The pitch is adjacent to Kviberg's large sports area, making it an important gathering place for both training and matches.

With OD400, the players get a pitch that is both safe, sustainable and future-proof - and Gothenburg takes another step towards greener sport.
