Customer Case: Vallens IF in Stenungsund

Infill for artificial turf pitches in Stenungsund - Vallens IF

Municipalities and sports clubs are facing the EU’s upcoming ban on rubber-based infill for artificial turf, effective from October 2031. This is driving the need for solutions that combine high playing performance with clear environmental benefits.

In Stenungsund, this transition is already underway. Two new artificial turf pitches – one full-size and one 7-a-side – have been completed for Vallens IF, in collaboration with the Municipality of Stenungsund, Vallens IF, and Limonta Sport Sverige.

The project selected BIQ Infill 200, a bio-based and biodegradable infill that enables a sustainable transition without compromising playing quality.

Quote from Stenungsund municipality:

"For us, it is important to invest in solutions that last - both for the game and for the environment. By choosing a bio-based and biodegradable infill, we are taking an active step towards a more sustainable sports facility and environment."
- Stefan Emsund, Facility Manager, Stenungsund Municipality
